Advent Launches Website with Revolutionary Functionality
Advent announced today the launch of a new corporate website for PTS Laboratories – www.ptslabs.com. The new dynamically driven site not only provided users with the most up-to-date news, information and technology from PTS, but also showcased a “virtual layout room” allowing customers to track core data from well production jobs.
Using unique and intricate programming, Advent was able to provide PTS with a web-based tool unseen to date in the industry. PTS Laboratories, a leading provider of Core Analysis and Geotechnical Services for the Oil and Gas industry, wanted a revolutionary online system that would serve as a portal to the customers’ well core.
A six-month project, the Enhanced Imagery Suite (EIS) allows the logged-in user to review core data and imagery, and use custom, web-based tools to manipulate the on-screen information. EIS images are available to customers via the PTS Laboratories website in a virtual layout room format and are viewed with PTS proprietary core viewing software. The core viewer is equipped with tools a geoscientist would bring to a physical layout room for core description. Its features include a dip angle tool, measurement tool, grain size comparator, snapshot camera and a text box for lithological notes. These files can be exported to a Word document enabling the geologist to complete his reports in a timely manner without having to transcribe notes and images from notebooks and other sheets. The EIS technology will provide an alternate means to obtain petrophysical information from various types of samples. PTS offers interpretative services including Macro Porosity, Pore Size, Fracture Density, Grain Size, Net Pay, and Net/Gross.
